What Spice are YOU?

You Are Oregano

You have are charming, funny, witty, and smart.

You love to party - and people love to party with you.

You are always friendly and warm. You are able to help people get along.

I guess that sounds about right for me. At least that would be nice if that is how I truly am. :) Thanks for the post Holly. That one was pretty fun.

Yard Sale plug

So I figure I can use my blog as my own little advertisement page. I just wanted to tell everyone that I am having a yard sale this weekend. We have quite a few bigger items that we don't really have room for anymore. Here are some of the items we are selling:

19" TV
Panasonic Sound System
xBox
DVD player
Elliptical machine
printer w/ extra ink
stroller
desk
golf clubs w/ golf bag
Coca Cola dinnerware
Coca Cola mini fridge
phone
video camera
luggage

All items are in good condition. If you have any interest in any of the items, give me a call or leave me a comment. I'll try and get some pictures posted of some of the items so you have an idea of what they look like. Sorry about the quality of the pictures. I had to take them in the garage with no lighting and not much room to manuver around. Pictures 1 and 2 are of the golf clubs. They are in excellent condition! picture 3 is of the RCA 19" tv. It still works perfectly. Picture 4 is of our panasonic sound system and the DVD player. The sound system, of course, comes with the subwoofer and speakers. It is in great condition and is honestly a very good sound system. The DVD player still works just fine. The last 2 pictures are of the elliptical. We bought it for 450.00 just a couple years ago. Sadly, we have hardly used it, so it is in wonderful condition. One of the reasons we bought this one is because of how natural it feels to use it. We have loved it, but haven't had room for it. We are hoping to sell it for 150.00, but will negotiate.

We Have It!

We finally got our new video camera! I'm glad the whole ordeal is over with now. We were playing around last night and took a few videos, so I'll just post one. Pay attention to Ryan in the background.

We love our new video camera and will hopefully get many chances to use it! Oh, and if you cannot view this video, please leave me a comment. I cannot view it, but I don't know if it's just me.

What an AMAZING Family

I just wanted to say how grateful I am for such a wonderful little family! Last night was another REALLY bad night with my teeth. (I am going in to the dentist today to get it all taken care of, and at this point I am actually excited to go in.) But I couldn't get to sleep last night because the pain was so bad. I woke Ryan up at 1:30 just bawling my head off. I think he was a little scared that I was crying so hard, but he held me and stayed up with me until the pain subsided enough that I could sleep. It just helped knowing he was there with me, even if there was nothing he could do to help ease the pain. And my sweet little Alex... if there is any time I feel pain, he asks me where it hurts and kisses me. Just like I do for him. It is just so wonderful knowing I have so many people in my life, both family and friends, who love me and are looking out for me. So thank you to all of you. I love you all, more than you know!

Mario Kart Wii

Mario Kart just came out for the Wii. We just broke it out today. It is so much fun! There are wheels you can put your Wii remotes in so that it feels like you are driving. I took a little video of Ryan playing with Alex cheering him on. Alex gets very into it... as you'll see.

Crappy Customer Service

I had such an awful customer service experience today, I just need to vent about it. On my last entry, I let you know that we just ordered a great camcorder. Well, we did next day shipping because we are so excited to get it and start learning how to use it. I ordered the camcorder yesterday online and immediately got an email saying to call the company to confirm my order so they could get it shipped ASAP. So when I called the company yesterday, instead of confirming the order, they decided I needed to order a whole bunch of accessories that I absolutely needed. I told them I was not going to purchase any accessories at this time (Mostly because I was smart and did my research and knew they were way overcharging on their accessories) The guy was upset that I didn't order anything else. They told me there would be a 20% chance we would get the camcorder today but we would most likely get it Monday. That was fine with me.

But today when I didn't receive an email with my tracking number, I decided to call them so find out when it would be sent and get my tracking number. The first time I called, I was hung up on before even speaking to someone. The second person I got asked for my order number and then hung up on me. The third time I called, I got someone on the phone and begged them not to hang up on me. I explained the situation and asked when I should be getting my tracking number. He put me on hold without asking, so I had no clue what was going on. When he came back on the line he said that my camcorder was on back order and we would not be getting it for 1-2 weeks. I told them that was really bizarre because when I had ordered it online the previous day, it showed it was in stock. He said they just went out of stock yesterday and that I would have to wait. I asked him what would happen with my payment since I paid for next day shipping. He hung up on me. Luckily Alex was in the room with me, or I would have said several words that he should not hear. I called back AGAIN. This new guy told me the same thing and said that if I did not like the idea of waiting for my camcorder I could just cancel my order. Well, I did not want to chance not getting it before going on vacation, so I cancelled the order.

I have been online to their site since then and the same camcorder says it is in stock. I'm sure that because I did not order any accessories and it would end up costing them money, that their way to get "rid" of me and my order is to tell me it is out of stock. They are closed now for the day, but I am planning on calling on Monday to see if it "happens" to be in stock. If it is, I don't know what I'll do. I know I won't get it from them. I've already found another place that was selling it for the same price, and I've placed an order with them. But do I even bother making a complaint? Will it make any difference? It just makes me so angry to be treated so poorly. And to go from being so excited about getting the camcorder to just being annoyed with the whole process is very disheartening.

Alright, I'm done complaining. Sorry about the long story.

New Camcorder

We finally gave in. We have an older (it's crazy that a 5 year old camcorder is considered "older") camcorder. It's one that uses tapes and all that stuff. Well we haven't been very good at using it, because we don't have a VCR set up anymore. So we've decided to sell it and get a newer model. (By the way... if anyone is in the market for a camcorder, give us a call or leave a comment) I just ordered it this morning. We got an incredible deal ordering it online. Here is a picture of it:

One of the reasons we decided to get it was because of our upcoming vacation. We realized we have pictures of just about everything in Disneyland, but hardly any video. So we are looking forward to capturing some of our favorite things on video at Disneyland this time!

So much pain

I am just about ready to let them take out all my teeth and put dentures in. Not really... but last night was so awful. I went to bed around 11:00, and got maybe 2-3 hours of sleep last night. I swear I'm popping Advil like it's candy, and it doesn't even touch the pain. Last night I took a more potent pain medication and it only worked for about 45 minutes. So I am a complete zombie today. I called my dentist asking if they could prescribe some kind of pain med until I go in on Tuesday to have all my work done. They acted like I was some kind of drug addict and said they would have to talk to the Dr and get back to me. That's understandable I guess.... Just annoying. So hopefully I'll get a call back soon. Just thought I'd share my pain with all of you.

What A Great Night!

I had a very memorable night last night. I went with 3 of my best friends to the Scrapbook Expo in Sandy. It was a great adventure and we were able to find some amazing bargains. But most of the fun was just getting there and back. For a full story, you can visit my friend Holly Hyde's blog. She did a great job telling the story. I'll be posting on my stamping blog soon to show off some of the things we found at the expo.

ACCEPTED!!

Ryan just received an email today that a spot has opened up, so he is officially accepted into the Rad Tech program for Fall 2008! We are so happy this is finally happening! Just thought I'd share the great news!

***Spoiler*** for Office Fans

Can I just say how happy I was with last night's episode? I actually let out a little scream when Jim pulled the engagement ring out. And when he got down on one knee and tricked her, I about died! Oh that show makes me so happy!

Book Tag

1. Pick up the nearest book (at least 123 pages).
2. Turn to page 123.
3. Find the 5th sentence
4. Post the 5th sentence on your blog
5. Tag 5 people

The landing was soft, on freshly plowed fields, in the memory of the men of Easy the softest they ever experienced.

This sentence is a description of Easy company jumping into Holland September of 1944.

As I mentioned in a previous blog, Band of Brothers is an amazing story and was turned into a miniseries. It's not for everyone, but it sure gives me great appreciation for soldiers of all wars and what they fought and died for. Ok, I'll get off my soap box now. Thanks for reading!

I'd Rather Die (almost)

I have recently been experiencing a few tooth aches. It's actually been 3-4 months since I first starting feeling the pain. However, I woke up crying Saturday night/Sunday morning because of the pain. It was at that point I knew I couldn't put off going into the dentist anymore. Let me explain my anxiety a little better. I do not numb. When I go in and they shoot me full of Novocaine, they give me the maximum amount and I can still feel exactly what they are doing to me. So it is literally torture for me to go in. I have found a dentist (thanks to my Mom, who has the same issues I do with numbing) that has an anesthesiologist come in and put you out completely while they do the work on you. It will cost a fortune, as insurance will not cover it (which in my opinion is ridiculous), but well worth it not to feel the pain. As I was discussing having to go into the dentist with my Mom, both of us just about had anxiety attacks. Anyway, my appointment is scheduled for next week to find out what is wrong and then I'll have to schedule another one to get the actual work done. AHHHHHH!!!! Am I the only crazy person that feels like this???

No Shots!

I took Alex in for his yearly check-up at the doctor. We were expecting that he would probably have to have a few shots to begin kindergarten in the fall. The doctor went through everything with Alex and announced that he is up to date on his shots and did not have to get any today! I cannot even begin to tell you how happy Alex was with this news! I think I was just as happy because I hate seeing my little boy hurt and sad. So Alex was able to come home very happy and healthy!

It Finally Feels Like Spring

I am so happy it finally feels like Spring! Today I sat at work and watched as every customer came in and commented about the beautiful weather outside. So after I got off at 4:00, I headed home with the determination to play outside during the evening. As soon as I got home, Alex and I went out back and blew bubbles for a good half hour. Then we packed up our baseball gear, soccer ball, and a picnic and took it down to the park. We spent the next hour or so playing together in the beautiful weather. It was absolutely wonderful! Here are just a few photos of Alex and Ryan playing soccer together at the park.

YAY for great weather!!!

Holly, the Miracle Worker

I finally caved and let Holly take some pictures of me and Alex this morning. I haven't seen all of them yet, but she did send me a few. I decided I would post the ones she sent. I like the ones of Alex a lot more than the ones of myself, but she even made me look decent.

Not too shabby, huh?

Alex makes this picture look good

I know I'm his mother, but the kid is adorable!!!

Again... what else can I say?

I'll have to have her take a few more pictures when Ryan is with us. It would be great to get another family photo. Thanks Holly!

SAY WHAT???

OK, so my predictions were VERY wrong for last nights American Idol. But I don't know that many would have predicted that one. Michael Johns was good, but would not have won (obviously). I'm sad he is gone just because he didn't deserve to go yet. And how Kristy Lee Cook escaped the bottom 3 is amazing! Oh well, I guess we'll see what happens next week.

Yay for Thursday Nights!

I love Thursdays! Even though I work during the day, the evenings are always wonderful. We try to go over to the South Davis Rec Center every Thursday evening to swim. (Sadly it doesn't always happen) Then I make a nice dinner, usually spaghetti or manicotti. After that, it's usually a night Ryan and I spend together watching our Thursday night shows. We haven't had it for a while since the shows have been off the air. But tonight, we get a full load of new shows! I think the order of our shows go... My Name Is Earl, The Office, Scrubs and ER. And of course tonight we have American Idol thrown in there. Luckily all of our shows are on one night, because this is really the only night we sit down to watch TV.

Oh and I am predicting that either Syesha or Kristy Lee Cook will be going home tonight. At least that is what I am hoping for. I think I will start putting a poll on my blog so we can get a little vote going. Next week...

NKOTB

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
Listen up everybody if you wanna take a chance.
Just get on the floor and do the New Kids' dance.
Don't worry 'bout nothing 'cause it won't take long.
We're gonna put you in a trance with a funky song, 'cause you gotta be
Hangin' tough, hangin' tough, hangin' tough.
We're rough.

I don't know why I haven't posted about this before now! I'm sure most of you have heard that New Kids on the Block are getting back together! AHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I seriously feel like a little girl again. As soon as my sister Bethany heard about them getting back together, she called me. Bethany, Hayley and I have all agreed that we will go see them in concert if they get anywhere close to Salt Lake City. I can still remember being in 5th grade and going over to a friends house for a party just to watch a NKOTB concert on TV. Between me and my sisters, we had 3 or 4 of the "barbie dolls" of the guys, a board game, posters, cassette tapes (I know... what are cassette tapes??), and numerous other collectible items. If only I still had them. :( I am so hyper just thinking about this. Here are before and after shots of the guys...

They are a bit better looking now than they were then. :) It will be a bit strange though, because Donnie Wahlberg has become a pretty good actor. Ryan and I are currently re-watching the HBO miniseries, Band of Brothers. He plays a main role in it, and is actually one of two of my favorite characters in it. So it'll be very interesting watching him go from 2nd Lt. Lipton back to dancing and singing in a boy band!

Thanks for letting me get that out of my system! Once a "Blockhead", always a "Blockhead"!!!

ALTERNATE???

We got some great (?) news today. Ryan got a letter from the Health Science Enrollment Services letting him know he is an ALTERNATE for the Rad Tech Program for Fall 2008. This means that if a space becomes available, he will be contacted ASAP to begin classes in August! So, there is a really great chance he will be getting in his program this year. It is something we have been waiting a while for. It's frustrating because we may not know for certain that he will be in the program until days, weeks, etc. before school starts. It is nice though that they give us a heads up so we can start planning for it. It's so interesting because this is something we have been planning and waiting for. Now that it's possibly here, it's a little intimidating. Bad news for me, I get to start looking for a full time job. That will be very hard, as I love both of my part time jobs right now. I'm hoping to find a receptionist position at a school close by. We'll see how that works out. But I am so happy for Ryan! I'm glad he has found something he loves to do, and I know he will be great at doing!

Skittles

I had a very long day today. I went to work this morning and worked all day with no lunch break. After I left work at 6:30, I went straight to Young Women's. I got home finally at about 8:00. I walked in tired and worn out. I was greeted by my loving husband. As soon as Alex heard me, he ran out of the bedroom and gave me a massive hug (which, by the way, is the best thing in the world). I then started dinner and came out of the kitchen to see some skittles sitting on a TV tray. I asked Ryan where they came from, because skittles are one of my favorites. Before I finished asking Ryan the question, Alex again ran out of the bedroom to tell me that he had gone to the store with Grandma and had picked out the skittles just for his Mommy. I almost started crying. He got the biggest hug and a promise of some of those skittles after dinner.

I am so grateful to have such a loving, sweet son. I hope that I am and continue to be worthy to have such an amazing child!

A Tag About Husbands

OK, someone has officially tagged me about Ryan, so here's my answers: then I'll tag some of my friends who look at this, I can't wait to read your answers.

What is his name? Ryan Mark Wood
How long have we been married? 7 1/2 years
How long did we date? We dated for 2 months, engaged for 5 months.
How old is he? 29

Who said I love you first? No clue. I think he did and then I said it back.
Who is taller? Ryan. He makes me feel little
Who sings better? I'd say we're about equal. He made madrigals in high school and I didn't, but he said if I had been at his school I would have.
Who is smarter? Ryan, by a long shot.
Whose temper is worse? Mine. You'll almost never see Ryan get angry. Both of us are pretty easy going, but I can get mad if the situation calls for it.

Who does the laundry? Both of us, but lately he has been doing it more.
Who cooks dinner? Me, me and me.

Who is more stubborn? Absolutely ME! Again, I'm pretty easy going, and I've gotten better over time, but I am still the more stubborn one.
Who is the first to admit when wrong? Well since I'm never wrong... No, we're both very open and will admit when we're wrong.

Who kissed who first? It was very consensual!
Who asked who out first? Ryan asked me out.
Who proposed? Ryan
What is my favorite thing about him? Everything! He is my best friend. He understands me like no other person could. I love that I can sit around and talk to him for hours. We love laughing together and he has the greatest laugh. He is the best Dad to our son! I can't imagine what my life would have been like if I had never met him. I love ya babe!

Alright, anyone who hasn't done this tag that would like to, please do it! It's quite fun!
