I'm it again

So I was "tagged" recently, but this is a different version and I was tagged again. So you have to put up with another one. Sorry.

A. The Rules are posted at the beginning. B. Each player answers about themselves. C. At the end of the post, the player tags 5 people, posts their names, and goes to their blogs letting them know they've been tagged.

5 Things I Was Doing 10 Years Ago:

1. A sad, little Junior in High School
2. Having wild, crazy parties with friends in my backyard... I do miss that backyard :)
3. Trying not to fail any classes in school
4. I think I worked at ShopKo at that time (oh, how I hated working there)
5. Spending a lot of time with my little brother and sister, who were only 5 and 2 at the time. (Wow, that's pretty amazing to think about)

5 Things On My To-Do List Today:

1. Take a shower... It's 9:30 and I haven't gotten around to it yet.
2. Figure out some amazing plans for Valentines day. (I'm in charge this year, and I have no clue what I am going to do)
3. Schedule to have family pictures taken. (I have been putting this off forever, and it cannot wait anymore. I may have to give in and go to the Walmart studios)
4. I would love to sit and make some cards today, but I always find other things I have to do. But hey, if this is MY to-do list.... then, why not? Ok, I'm gonna make a card or scrapbook page today!
5. Clean house (blah!!!)

5 Snacks I Enjoy:

1. Better Cheddar crackers - so much better than cheese its!
2. Gummy Bears (I just bought a huge Costco bag of them!!)
3. Fruit roll ups. But not the crappy ones. The ones that actually taste like real fruit. I love the raspberry and apple ones.
4. Popcorn
5. Potato chips and cottage cheese

5 Things I'd Do if I Were a Billionaire:

1. Have a whole bunch of kids. Probably a mixture of adoption and in vitro.
2. Travel the world. I would love to go to other countries and just help where it's needed.
3. Own a home in the place I would like to live, not where I have to live because I can afford it.
4. Set college/wedding/future funds aside for every one of my kids.
5. Take my whole family on a vacation to every Disney Resort in the world!

3 Bad Habits:

1. Not folding laundry when it's clean.
2. Stuttering (I don't know if it's a bad habit, or an actual problem... Oh well)
3. Gossiping. I always feel terrible when I do it, but I can't seem to help myself.

5 Jobs I've Had (I can only list 5?):

1. Cashier at ShopKo
2. daycare worker at Kindercare (had up to 25 kids in my care at one time)
3. teller for a credit union
4. Billing, patient accounts and collections for IHC
5. customer service for Verizon Wireless

5 Things You Probably Don't Know About Me (I think everyone knows everything about me, so most of these won't be a surprise to anyone):

1. I have never had a pedicure/manicure or professional massage.
2. My eyes change color. Most of the time they are some sort of green. But at times they are also blue or grey.
3. I love movies! I love to watch them, critique them, study more about some of them. I would probably do very well as a movie critic.
4. No matter what anyone says, especially my sister Bethany.... I love the Wiggles! I wish we could have taken Alex to one of their concerts. I was actually a little sad when Alex grew out of that stage. But there have been times I have put the DVD on to listen to the music. It's so catchy and the guys are so fun to watch! I can do most of the dance moves to their songs....
5. I love to window shop. Most of the time I don't have money to buy what I want, but I still love going to stores. Most of the people I talk to say they can't stand window shopping because they get frustrated that they can't buy what they want right then and there. But I think it's fun to go and dream about what might be some day when you're filthy rich.... ha ha, like that will ever happen!

Now, I'm supposed to tag people again. I really don't care if you do this or not. Anyone who reads mine... feel free to do this if you want. If not, I won't be offended. Have a great day everyone!!

Farewell President Hinckley

I just wanted to mention here how much we will miss our dear prophet. I am so happy for him that he gets to be with his wife again. He must have been welcomed with so much love. I only vaguely recall having any other prophet, so it will be strange not to see Pres. Hinckley at conferences and other church events. I am so grateful for the example he was and will always be to me and other members of the church.

I guess I'm IT!

Apparently, there are games of Tag in the blog world. I did not know they existed until I was recently tagged by my friend Amy... Thanks so much Amy :) So I hope I get this right.

Rules

1. Rules of the game are posted at the beginning of post.
2. The player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves
3. At the end of the post the players then tags 6 other bloggers, and posts their names.

I am scared of heights, but only in a car. I have had this phobia for quite some time. I have no problems standing on a bridge and hanging half way over it, but I get scared out of my mind when I'm driving up in the mountains. I hate not having control of what happens to me.

I hate expensive jewelry. This one my husband loves me for. I don't like anyone spending a lot of money to buy me expensive jewelry. I'd much prefer having the cheap, but looks expensive, jewelry. I am always losing an earring or misplacing a bracelet. When it's the cheap stuff, I don't feel guilty about it.

This one is obvious, but I am a DISNEY JUNKIE!! I love all things Disney. Movies, decorations, Disneyland, etc. If you have been in our home, you would know that over 75% of our decorations are Disney related.

I love potato chips and cottage cheese. This one is thanks to my husband. I thought he was crazy when he told me to dip my chip into cottage cheese. But it has now become one of my favorite snacks.

I love to bake! Do not confuse this with cook. I am ok with cooking meals, but it's not my favorite. I love to bake though. Cookies, brownies, pie, etc. I don't get to do it very often, but I love it!

I love the Wii! Even though my husband has been a video game lover his whole life, I have not been. Until the Wii. The technology is amazing and I love the things you can do with it. I am so excited for the Fitness program to come out for it.

Well, that wasn't very exciting, was it? Oh well. Let me see... who shall I tag? I don't know if 6 people even check my blog. Ok, well I'll say Patty, Hayley and Clover. I think everyone else has already been tagged.

Ryan and Mandi

I got this off another blog. Thought it would be fun to fill out.

How long have you been together? 8 years since we met, 7 years married

How long did you date? About 7 months. Well, 2 months dating and then 5 months dating/engaged

How old is he? 29

Who eats more? Ryan

Who said I love you first? We don't really remember. I think it was me (Mandi). But I think it was one of those situations where one said it and the other said it back.

Who is taller? Ryan, by far

Who is smarter? Ryan... We were just looking at his college transcripts. The only time he got below a 3.5 was when we were dating. Of course we both have strengths in different areas.

Who does the laundry? That chore is shared. Usually we let the clean laundry pile up and then fold it together.

Who does the dishes? Ryan. Our deal is, I cook the meals so Ryan does the dishes.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Currently, Ryan does. We switch off though.

Who pays the bills? Mandi.

Who mows the lawn? Ummmm.... my parents probably wish we would mow the lawn more.

Who cooks dinner? Answered that one already. Mandi almost always cooks.

Who drives when you are together? Ryan. I have been in a few accidents (none my fault), so I am a little paranoid when driving.

Who is more stubborn? Depends on what it is. We are both very mild people, but can get stubborn when certain things are brought up.

Who kissed who first? Ryan kissed me.

Who asked who out? Ryan asked me out. But that was a chore all on it's own. He had to beat another guy to it.

Who proposed? Ryan did. I had hoped he would do it on our trip to Disneyland, but he waited until a few days after we got home. It was up at the Bountiful temple, in front of the fountain. It was great!

Who is more sensitive? That would be me. Ryan is a sensitive guy, but I beat him out by quite a bit.

Who has more friends? Right now... Me. When we were first married, Ryan had more friends. But as time has gone on, I've gotten in touch with high school friends, so now I have a few more.

Who has more siblings? I do.

Who wears the pants in the family? Alex. But between Ryan and I, it depends on the day and situation. We are pretty equal in making decisions.

The Things I Love

Okay, let me start by saying this week was awful. Probably one of the worst I've had in a while. Thing after thing kept going wrong. I won't elaborate, but it hasn't been a fun week. So, why you ask is the title of this blog called The Things I Love? It was one of those moments that I was feeling depressed about all the sad/bad things in life and then I looked around and started noticing all the good things that I have in my life. I just wanted to list a couple of those things.

I love that though Alex may get sick and I worry to death about him, he will still ask me to hold and cuddle with him to make him feel better. I love that I have a loving husband that will let me cry in his arms and not question my motives. I love that even though I can only cook a few great meals, Ryan and Alex still get excited when I make their favorite... Manicotti. I love that Alex can't wait for his Daddy to get home so he can play Star Wars with him. Even though I wake up with a sore back, I love that Alex will come get in bed with us when he has bad dreams. I love that even though Ryan is 29 and I am 26, we still LOVE listening to Weird Al Yankovic and that Alex has learned most of the lyrics to White and Nerdy!! I love that even though we may never get pregnant again, we may have the ability to raise a child and have them sealed to us through adoption. I love that I have amazing friends to turn to when good or bad things happen. And I love that even though my family has been through A LOT in the past little while, we can lean on each other for support.

I could probably go on for a long time, but it sure helps put things in perspective when you write out all the wonderful things that you have. Here are a few pictures that kind of go along with some of the things I love...

It may not look great, but we all love the Manicotti
I make.

Ryan and Alex playing Lego Star Wars together on the Wii.

Yes, this is actually Weird Al. We have been to two of his concerts.

This guy is amazing!

Alex's life - in a nut shell

So I was thinking how unfair it is that they didn't really have blogs and such when Alex was a baby. I've been looking at my friends cute sites with their kids awesome pictures. So I thought, hey, why can't I do that now. I got some of Alex's pictures throughout different stages in his life. Obviously, I've only picked out a handful of them. I have hundreds of others I could use, but it would probably take a good portion of my life to upload them all. Looking at his pictures, I can't help but think back to all these different times in his life, how fun they were but how fast they went by. He has been such a sweet kid from the beginning, and even though there are things that I miss, each stage seems to get even more fun than the last. So here are some ADORABLE pictures of our sweet little Alex from birth up to a few weeks ago.

Alex at 5 weeks old

First trip to California at 4 months old. (I know,
he looks like he's 8 or 9 months old.)

First Christmas (9 months old)

1st Birthday, messy cake face

2 years old

3 years old

4 years old

4 years old (this past Christmas)

Well, there's Alex's life in a nut shell. It's so fun to look back at all of the memories. I'm going to see if I can find any videos from when he was a baby, that I can post. Anyway, hope you enjoyed them.

Stamping... my favorite past time

As some of you may know, I've really gotten into stamping/card making recently. I am a demonstrator for Stampin' Up! It is so much fun and I am actually getting pretty good at it (not to toot my own horn or anything). I might start posting more of the cards I make, just because they are so much fun. But today I got a new stamp set and had to sit down and use it. I like the card that made, so I decided to show it off on the blog. Sorry to those who think this stuff is boring. For those who are interested, if you ever want to purchase any Stampin' Up! products or would like me to come demonstrate for some of your friends, etc., I would absolutely love to. Anyway, here is the card....

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Well, I hope that today isn't a preview of what this coming year will be like. We celebrated New Year's with some friends, which was great. We played a lot of Wii and just had fun. We came home shortly before midnight so we could celebrate the actual New Year as a family. Well, Alex fell asleep about 5 minutes before midnight, poor little guy. Too much action for him in one night. Ryan and I were so tired, we went straight to bed, although I ended up not being able to fall asleep until about 3:00 a.m. Then sometime around 5:30, Alex came in saying he had just thrown up. Luckily he made it to the bathroom in time. To make a long story short, we all have some type of flu now and are quite miserable. Happy New Year!!! I'm sure it'll be over soon and we'll get on with life. I hope the rest of you had a much better New Year and have a wonderful day. As for our family.... I think we will stay in and watch movies all day.
