We Love T-Ball

Alex just started t-ball, and it has been sooo cute getting to go and watch his games. His team, The Dragons, never did any practices so the kids really had no clue what they were doing during the first game. His second game was yesterday, and it seemed to go a lot smoother. There are a few weird things about his games though. They put him in as "pitcher" for the first game. Pitcher??? It's t-ball! They had him pretend to throw a ball to the batter, which usually the batter never paid attention to anyway. So that really confused him. And because they want each child to have a turn, there are no strikes, balls, etc., and everyone runs to first base and stops, until the next batter hits. So it's a little (LOT) different than we taught him, but he's getting used to it. Every time he comes home from a game, he starts counting down how many days until his next game. I love that it's something that he loves to do and is so excited about! So here are a few pictures of Alex playing t-ball!

Everyone standing in their places ready for their first game. Alex is number 14 and is standing as the pitcher in this picture.

The look of confusion on Alex's face as they told him to pitch a ball that wasn't really there. He got the hang of it though :)

Alex's first time up to bat. He hit the tee a couple times, but I think that's expected when you don't have any practices before hand.

Also the first time up to bat. Since he was the last one to bat on his team, he got to bring everyone into home. Very exciting!!!

This is before the second game. Their warm-up consists of the kids pointing out where each of the bases are so they know where to run. Cracks me up!

This ended up being a great hit for Alex. The helmets they have to wear to bat never fit Alex great. He has a big noggin. Cutie!

One of Alex's best friends, Ben, is on his team. This picture shows Ben coming into home and Alex coming in right behind him.

This is going to be a great season! I will post some of the video I took in a little bit. We got some good shots of Alex getting a few balls while in the outfield!
